Completed card using the Spotlight technique. You can use any shape dies but for this sample I chose a rectangle as I wanted to "spotlight" the buildings and street lights. |
You will need TWO sheets of the same design, from your Urban Life paper pack, trimmed to 6 1/2 x 4 1/2". |
Stamp our silhouette lady, in Midnight, to the left of ONE of the printed sheets. Use your white gel pen to add accents and highlights to the image. |
On the second printed sheet, die cut your rectangle (or chosen shape) in the area you wish to draw the eye to or "spotlight". I chose to spotlight the street lights and buildings down the top right of the design. |
Use foam pads to line up and adhere your die cut rectangle on to the stamped printed sheet. |
Mat your artwork on black card cut to 6 3/4 x 4 3/4" and then on to your pink card blank. Pop to one side. |
Using the dies as a guide, cut ONE drop from the typewriter washi roll. Lift up the backing sheet along one end of the tape and adhere across the top of an A4 sheet of white card. Slowly peel away the backing, as you use your hand to smooth the washi tape down on to the card. Once the backing has been fully removed, you can burnish the washi to ensure there are no air bubbles or creases |
Line up the first die and secure with low tack tape before running it through your machine. |
Line up the second die and run it through your machine. Pop out all the sentiments, pick out the one you are using for this project and keep the rest in a tub for future projects. |
Adhere your chosen washi tabs where required. |
Use your Stickles to add that extra touch of sparkle to the street lights. |
